Bio

Mr Meredith Lloyd-Evans, Managing Director of BioBridge Ltd, began his career as a veterinarian, then joined SmithKline Animal Health UK Ltd and became the Technical Director UK and Co-ordinator for veterinary pharmaceutical product development Europe. He has worked in technology transfer and licensing with the British Technology Group, responsible for a portfolio of inventors, patents, projects and commercial licenses in biotechnology and biomaterials as well as animal health. He worked briefly for the technology consultancy PA before setting up BioBridge. The company has evolved from a sole tradership through partnership to a limited company with a well-established network of associates. BioBridge Associates includes colleagues of similar experience and effectiveness from Japan, USA and Europe who are called on when additional resource and expertise is needed to provide the service that our clients have specified with us. He has represented UK frequently in missions and conference panels in USA, Europe, Korea and Japan, in areas including health technologies, industrial biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology and bioclusters. Throughout the past 30 years, he has written and published numerous articles and industry reports and has planned, chaired or presented at a wide range of events. He is a member of an investment and mentoring group that exists to support start-ups by recent ex-pupils of Manchester Grammar School. He is an assessor for proposals to the EU’s Framework Programmes and to the UK’s Technology Strategy Board programme and a monitor for funded projects. He is a trustee of the University of Cambridge Veterinary School Trust.
